A new guide to the capital was launched last night…

A new guide to Dublin was introduced last night, with Dublin’s party-goers marking the publication of The Hot Press Best Of Dublin. Models and musicians, socialites and stars came out for cocktails and canapés at Dublin’s hot new venue ’37’ on Dawson St. A ‘handbook for good times’, The Hot Press Best of Dublin brings together recommendations and tips from writers and Dublin personalities in a fitting celebration of the capital city.

Kathryn Thomas, Shane MacGowan, Shane Gillen, Hayley Rock, Darren Kennedy, Angela Scanlon, Philomena Lynott, Avila Lipsett, Danny O’Reilly, Laura Whitmore, Michael O’Doherty and Nadine King were among those who kept the party going into the night!

The Best Of Dublin includes a comprehensive lifestyle guide, the 50 best dishes to eat in Dublin, music, nightlife and fashion guides and our contributors’ recommendations for entertainment, food, sport, fashion, markets, kids, tours, fun. It is a definitive Dublin handbook for good times.

Guest restaurant ‘critic’ Shane MacGowan reveals his top ten Dublin restaurants, Rachel Allen gives her recipe for an ideal Dublin picnic and Kathryn Thomas describes her perfect Dublin day. Best of Dublin will also feature recommendations from cover star Angela Scanlon, Irvine Welsh, Rosanna Davison, Shay Healy, Paul Howard, Ruth Scott, Stuart Clarke, Niall Stokes, Louise Johnston, Daniella Moyles, Abie Philbin Bowman, Ross Lewis and loads more.

“It’s easy to become blind to the pleasures that our own place harbours,” Hot Press editor and publisher of The Best Of Dublin said. “We are so caught up in the hustle of getting by and of making a living, or trying to, that we close our eyes and our ears to what is around us. Well, it’s time to waken up! There is mischief afoot. Joining in is far more fun than going home to sleep. Dublin is rocking. That’s what The Best of Dublinaims to celebrate.”

The Best of Dublin is a distilation of local knowledge packed with unique, exciting, fun, entertaining – and sometimes downright odd – recommendations in a handbook for good times, messing and adventures. The publication is essential reading for Dubliners – and will help to keep visitors on the right track. “As the Best Of Dublin team traversed the high streets and the laneways alike, picking up tips from experts, as well as some great personalities, it became clear that there is a lot to shout about,” publishing manager Paul Trainer said. “Within the Hot Press Best Of Dublin magazine you’ll find enough suggestions to keep you going from breakfast to bedtime and many reasons to love your city. Whether you like to hang out in boutiques, prowl nightclubs, meet bands, exercise, find bargains or eat in outstanding restaurants, you’ll find what you need in this very special publication.”

The Hot Press Best Of Dublin is available in Tesco, Dunnes, Easons and all good newsagents from Friday, July 27, for €3.95. You can buy it online
